It is possible in Work to set up security linked to IP addresses. This feature can be configured if you want to ensure that your employees can only clock in when they are at approved locations.

Since we have an employee app, it is a very good idea to set up this security if you want to ensure that they cannot clock in, for example, while on the bus and delayed.

The feature can only be set up if you have a static IP address.

An employee must have access to the network before this feature can be used.

To set up this security, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Various menu.
  2. Select Systemsettings.
  3. Click on the Security tab.
  4. Press the green plus sign in the upper right corner.

When you click the green plus sign, a pop-up window will appear, which needs to be filled out.

In this pop-up, the IP address you are currently using will be displayed.

To configure the security settings in the pop-up, follow these steps:

Step 1

  1. First, select the type Block.
  2. The function you should select is Clock-In.
  3. Check for should be set to IP address.
  4. Optionally, give it a title. This is not mandatory.
  5. Enter * to block all IP addresses.
  6. Ensure that all employee groups are enabled.

Step 2

  1. Now, select the type Allow.
  2. The function you should select is Clock-In.
  3. Check for should be set to IP address.
  4. Optionally, give it a title. This is not mandatory.
  5. Enter the IP address where clock-ins are allowed. If you wish to put in the IP adress shown in the pop up simply click the block containing the IP adress and it will be set in the field "IP".
  6. Under employee groups, select the group(s) of employees who are allowed to clock in at this IP address.

You can create as many security settings as needed.
If a group should be able to clock-in regardless of location, simply follow Step 2, but use * instead of the IP address and select the employee group it should apply to.
