KPIs

In Board, you don’t need to create KPIs from scratch, as there are a number of system-generated KPIs available for you to visualize your data. If you want to expand with more KPIs, you have the option to create custom KPIs.

Under Settings > KPIs, you can view all KPIs across your integrations. Simply select the integration for which you want to see KPIs. The overview is structured so that user-created KPIs are listed at the top, followed by system-generated ones. You can search within specific datasets while also being able to search by the names of the KPIs.

Please note, you need to be an Administrator to access KPIs in Board.

Create KPI

If you want to create your own custom KPIs, this can be done with just a few clicks.

Under Settings > KPIs, select the integration for which you want to create a KPI.

Click on Create KPI and fill out the popup with the following information:

  1. Name your KPI and optionally add a description.
  2. Select Type.
  3. Under Data sets, choose the source the KPI should be based on.
  4. Under Field, select the field from which the KPI should retrieve data. We recommend using ID, as each ID is unique.
  5. Under Action, select how the KPI will be measured.
  6. Multiply the value by, here you have the option to enter a static number that the KPI will be multiplied by.
  7. Under Time, you can choose different timeframes your KPI should be based on (The help text will let you know what the standard field is in the data-set).
  8. Select which field should identify the user by choosing from the drop down under User (The help text will let you know what the standard field is in the data-set). User should be based on an ID and not text.
  9. Click Next to optionally set conditions for your KPI.

We recommend to use ID under Field, if possible.

Click Next to optionally set conditions for your KPI.

Conditions

Easily set conditions for your KPI by clicking And/Or else to add conditions.

  • With And, you can set multiple conditions that must be met.
  • With Or else, you can set multiple conditions and specify how many of them need to be met.

Once you have created your KPI and clicked Save, it will appear in the overview of your KPIs. Custom KPIs can be recognized by the symbols under Options.

Please note that any text you enter as a condition must match the text from the integration exactly, as we distinguish between uppercase and lowercase letters.

If you want to set conditions for your KPI that are based on fields created in your data source, be aware that there must be data in this field before it can be used in Board to create a KPI or conditions.
