How to Create a Skill:

  1. Go to the "Various" menu.
  2. Click on "Systemsettings".
  3. Navigate to the "Staff" tab.
  4. Click the green + icon next to skills.
  5. Give your skill a title.
  6. Choose whether to use an icon or an picture:
    • Icon: Select an icon and choose a color for it.
    • Picture: Choose from already uploaded images or upload a new one.
  7. Click "Save".

Once you have created the skill, you will see its title displayed in the overview under Systemsettings. The selected icon and color will also be shown. The number of employees who have achieved or been assigned the skill will be displayed under the "Number of" column. You can also edit or delete the skill from this view.


How an Employee Can Obtain a Skill:

An employee can obtain a skill in two ways:

  1. Through the completion of an education: This requires that the education is set up to grant a skill upon completion. Read more about educations here.
  2. Manually assigned: If you have the right to view an employee and manage skills, you can assign skills from the employee’s profile. This option is found under the "Skills" tab in the employee's profile, where both earned and unearned skills are listed. You can assign a skill by clicking the green plus icon, specifying the date it was earned, selecting the skill, and optionally adding a comment.


What You Can Do with a Skill:

  1. Use in a shift template
    Skills can be applied in a shift template. Under access settings, you can enable or disable registration, cancellation, and exchange. Read more about shift templates here.
    • In the registration settings, you can specify which skill must be obtained for an employee to sign up for a shift.
  2. Search using skills
    In the contact list, found under Communication > Contact List, you can filter employees by their skills. Read more about the contact list here.
  3. Filter employees by skill
    You can also filter by skills under Staff > Employee Overview.
  4. Visualization using skills
    Skills can be used in our visualization tool, "Board". A skill can act as a filter in a widget, or be displayed in a table alongside the employee’s name. To be able to showcase the skill alongside the employees name you will have to do as follows: 
    • Set up a table in Board. Read more about tables here.
    • Choose the employee name as a column
    • Toggle on the skills
