When you have calculated a salary via the menu option "Calculate Salary", you can finalize the payroll as the final step of the calculation process.

Finalizing the payroll means closing/locking the timesheets and registrations included in the calculation, ensuring that no changes can be made to data for which payroll has already been processed.
Closing salaries strengthens your position with external stakeholders, showing that data cannot be changed once payroll is run, and allows you to track who completed the payroll.
You will still be able to view timesheets under the menu Reporting > Reports. However, the options on the right side, such as editing, deleting, and approving, will be disabled, leaving the data available for viewing only.
You will also have access to export the completed payroll data for use in applications like Excel. This can be done via the menu "Economy" > "Closed Salary".
